Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters.

Personal information deserves careful handling. This policy explains our approach and how to contact us with questions.

Draft for review. This company-wide wording is being reviewed before public launch.

Our commitment and responsibilities

Paradigm Shift Financial Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") respects the privacy of clients and prospective clients. This policy describes the handling of personal information under our control in connection with our practice. Advisors, staff, and service providers who handle that information are expected to use it only for authorized purposes and to protect its confidentiality. Insurers and other product or service providers may also hold information under their own privacy policies and responsibilities.

What we collect and why

We limit collection to information needed for an identified purpose, such as responding to an inquiry, understanding your needs, arranging a requested product or service, maintaining your client relationship, or meeting applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Depending on the service, this may include contact and identity information, family circumstances, employment, income, assets, liabilities, financial objectives, and existing coverage. Insurance applications may require health or lifestyle information. Sensitive identifiers, including a Social Insurance Number, are requested only when appropriate to an identified purpose. We normally obtain information from you or your authorized representative; other sources may be involved with your consent or where permitted or required by law.

Consent and your choices

We explain the purposes for collecting, using, or disclosing personal information and obtain the consent appropriate to the circumstances, except where the law permits or requires otherwise. Product applications and client agreements may contain additional consent terms. You may contact us to ask about your choices or withdraw consent, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. We will explain any resulting limits on the services we can provide. Visiting this website does not replace the consent process for becoming a client or applying for a product.

When information is shared

Information may be shared, as needed for an identified purpose and with appropriate consent or other lawful authority, with your servicing advisor, authorized support staff, insurers, managing general agencies, and service providers involved in the requested service. We limit use and disclosure to those purposes unless you authorize another use or the law permits or requires it. Your advisor can explain which organizations are involved in your particular arrangement and how to obtain their privacy information.

Protecting and retaining information

We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and limit access to people who need it for authorized work. Personnel who handle client information are expected to maintain confidentiality. We retain information for as long as needed for the purposes for which it was collected and applicable legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping requirements. Information that is no longer required is securely disposed of or anonymized, as appropriate.

Accuracy, access, and corrections

Please tell us when relevant information changes. You may request access to personal information under our control, ask how it has been used or disclosed, and request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within the time required by applicable law and explain any lawful limits on access, extensions, or applicable fees. Access may be restricted where necessary to protect another person's information or where another legal exception applies.

This website and outside services

The introductory form prepares a draft in your own email application. It does not submit an inquiry to a website database or save the form contents in browser storage. Nothing is sent until you send the email. Email providers and recipients then handle the message. Appointment links lead to Calendly, and other links may lead to third-party websites. Wix hosts this website, and the pages request fonts from Google Fonts; these services may process technical information when resources are requested. Third-party services have their own privacy practices. Ask us about the service providers involved and any processing outside Canada. Please do not send identity documents, account numbers, medical details, or detailed financial records through an introductory email. Your advisor can explain how to share required documents securely.

Questions, requests, and complaints

Direct privacy questions, access or correction requests, and complaints to our Privacy Contact at admin@paradigmshiftfinancial.net. You may also call 780.868.9225 and ask to be connected with the person responsible for privacy. We will review your concern and respond. Please provide enough information to explain the request without including sensitive records in an initial message. You may also contact the applicable privacy commissioner about your rights or an unresolved concern.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable requirements. The current approved version will be made available on this page. For questions about an earlier version or a change affecting your information, please contact us.
